Ruby Jean Hayes, 85, of Savannah TN went to her eternal home on January 14th, 2023. She was joined once again with her husband, Chester Hayes, after 52 years of marriage on earth.
Ruby was a woman of strong faith who was a pillar in her church community.
She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Holcomb (Dean) & Carol McElya (Mike), her sister, Lucille Lard (Grady, who preceded her in death), her grandchildren, Jonathan Monday (Karen, who preceded him in death) & Carley Scott (Colton), 4 great grandchildren, Valerie Monday, Dakota Monday, Mary Hayes Scott, & Hudson Scott, and several nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by her brother, Leon Gray, her parents, Albert and Lizzie Gray, and her husband Chester Hayes.
Ruby Hayes worked at Angelica uniform company as a quality control auditor before retiring, then working as a volunteer for Hardin medical center. She loved her family dearly and spent her days painting, traveling, and cooking large meals for her many family get togethers. Her priority was spreading the gospel and living by his word.
Services will be held at Shackelford funeral home in Savannah TN, Friday, January 20th. Visitation from 1-3 with funeral and graveside services to follow
