Mrs. Ruby Jean Farris, 78, of Florence passed away on April 20, 2016. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Throughout her career, she worked at Parisians, Kreismans and Warehouse Furniture. She loved working in her yard, cooking and entertaining, friends and family. Her greatest love was for her family.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Park with the Rev. John Brock officiating.
She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Turner; mother, Veora Turner and son, Randy Farris.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Bill Farris, Sr., sons, Bill Farris, Jr. (Evon) of Florence, daughter, Dede Farris of Birmingham; granddaughters, Kaylia and Whitney Farris both of Florence, Carson Farris of Birmingham, AL and Jake Farris of Florence; great-grandchildren, Baxton Bullington and Foster Waldrep.
Jake Farris, Baxton Bullington, Lewis Fredrichs, Raymond Ritchie, Joe Meddars and Jim Farris will serve as pallbearers.
Walter Ingler, Bill Hyde and Red Bolton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American’s Parkinson’s disease Association.
