Mrs. Means, who died Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton, was born September 27, 1940, in Kentucky to Henderson Shelton and Vela Crawford Shelton.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Means; son, Eugene Means, Jr.; parents; brother, Ernest Shelton (Tempie); and sisters, Edna Marcum (Lewis), Marie Tucker (Joel), Flonnie Harris, and Mary Latham.  Her leisure time was enjoyed reading, crafting, travel, and gospel music.  Although she grew up in the Church of Christ, she converted to Catholicism as an adult.  She loved quoting scripture and sharing the word of God.  The youngest of six children, Ruby was raised on a farm in Albany, KY.  She spent 20 years traveling as a U. S. Navy spouse and enjoyed all the many places she lived and visited.  Professionally, she worked as a CNA in home healthcare.  Being a mom, grandma, and great-grandma brought her the greatest joy.  Family was the love of her life.  She always had that beautiful smile and a loving, kind, and caring spirit.  She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Giordano (Nicholas) of Decatur, AL; daughter-in-law, Natalie Means of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Adrienne Rozario (Nigel) of Littleton, CO and P.J. Giordano (Kimber) of Priceville, AL; great-grandchildren, Luna Giordano of Priceville, AL, Anna Grace Rozario of Littleton, CO, and August Rozario of Littleton, CO; and step-great-grandchildren, Braden Peralta and Noah Dunlap, both of Priceville, AL.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
