Ruby “Dot” Honeycutt, 98, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Franklin County, AL to Obediah and Martha Jane Bonds Coats. She had worked at Blue Bell for several years and then became a caregiver for her family. She was a member of Halltown Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 27, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Bill Harper officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 12-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Burnout Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by five children, Dwight Blackburn (Jerri), Norris Blackburn (Nancy), Charles Blackburn (Patti), Kenny Blackburn and Leisha Hallmark (Silas); fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Barney Blackburn and James Honeycutt; her daughter, Brenda Thorn and twelve brothers and sisters.
