Ruby Dean King, 84, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2024 surrounded by what she considered her greatest accomplishment, her children. She was born on September 5, 1939, to Ellis and Sophia Thompson of Booneville, MS.
She was a faithful member of Martin Hill Free Will Baptist Church for over 60 years. She loved every person God placed in her path. She welcomed many of them into her home and enjoyed cooking for them. She often made her famous red velvet cake for family and friends throughout the years. She also loved and cared for many pets over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. David Harper and Bro. Rick Bowling officiating. Burial will be in the Martin Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 29, 2024 at McMillan Funeral Home and on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her children, Brenda McCoy and Terry King of Booneville, Michael King of Tupelo, and Shalene (Chris) Bowling of Booneville;
her grandchildren, Matthew McCoy, Clay (Ashley) McCoy, and Jon (Kimberly) McCoy; her great-grandchildren, Alex McCoy, Mattie McCoy, Korbyn McCoy, Maisie McCoy, Xander Brown and Shyann Trimble; her sisters, Barbara (Sis) Johnson and Joyce McGaughy; A bonus son Ronald Dahlem; several nieces and nephews, a host of friends too numerous to name, and her pets Mollie and Hayes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Tremon King; a brother, Bobby Thompson; a son-in-law, Dale McCoy; nephews, Tommy Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, and Anthony Thompson; and a niece Rita Sue McGaughy.
Pallbearers are Greg Dodds, Gerald Dodds, Jerald Johnson, Randall Johnson, Marty McGaughy, Benny Nix, and Danny Phillips.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mickey Johnson, Cotton King, and Terry Nix.
