Mrs. Ruby Claudette Compton, age 86 of Union Grove the Pine Ridge Community, passed away on September 30, 2021 at her residence.
Mrs. Compton was born in Marshall County on December 31, 1934 to the late Joseph Toss and Princes Henretta Hyatt Betterton. She enjoyed art work and drawing in her past time. Ruby was a loving mother who loved the company of her family.
Mrs. Compton was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Compton leaves behind to celebrate and reminisce her life; son, David R. Compton (Betty); great grandson, Cody lee Compton; brother, Joseph Toss Betterton, Jr.; sister, Ila Ruth Cooley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Compton is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hubert Compton; son, Jeffery Hugh Compton; daughter, Sherrie Cavender; granddaughter, Jamie Compton; brothers, Garland Betterton, Glenton “Snap” Betterton; sisters, Jeanette Handschumacher; Joyce Isbell.
Graveside service will be held at Pine Ridge Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 with Bro. Eldridge Criscoe and Bro. Kenneth Smith officiating.
