Memorial Services for Mrs. Ruby Catherine Hampton Wallace, age 97 of Birmingham, will be Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. at the Clay County Memory Gardens with Bro. Scott Jordan officiating.
Mrs. Wallace passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Fair Haven Nursing Facility in Irondale. After Graduating from Clay County High School, she married and lived several places while her husband served in the military including Auburn, Talladega and for 16 years, North Carolina. She worked primarily as a Loan Officer for a mortgage company in Alabama and Florida, and retired in 1998 before settling in Birmingham in October of 2014. She was a loving mother, Grandmother and sister.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by her siblings: Anne Chandler of Moody, Frank Hampton of Trussville, and Bhurrell Hampton of Moody; three grandchildren: Corbett, Hayden, and Donnie, and four great-great grandchildren, plus other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Grover Cephas Hampton and Ara Bell Scarbrough Hampton; children: Warren H. Wallace and Catherine Ann Yates; and siblings: Esther Sparks and Thomas E. Hampton.
