Ruby Bernice Jackson departed this life on Friday, February 10, 2017 at NHC Nursing Home Pulaski, Tennessee. Bernice was born January 28, 1941 in Giles County Tennessee to Dimple Coffey and the late Harvey Flournoy Coffey, Jr.
Bernice was a member of Mt Olivet MB Church where she was a faithful member for many years and sang in the choir. She attended Bridgeforth High School and graduated in 1959. She was employed by Pulaski Leemar Shirt Factory and by Maremont Gabriel/Arvin for approximately 32 years until the facility closed. She later was employed at Saar Gummi Tennessee for 13 years. Bernice was a very dedicated employee, like her father a quality he instilled in all his children. She leaves to cherish her memory an only son, Ricky Allen Jackson, Mother, Mrs. Dimple Coffey, Brooklyn, NY; two brothers Robert Claggett (Mattie) Coffey, Lynnville, TN, Flournoy Coffey, Glencoe, IL, and one sister Ruth Spotwood Coffey, Brooklyn, NY. One grandson and one granddaughter, nieces, and nephews and two devoted cousins Ada Nelson and Ann Coffey and a dedicated caregiver Eulilia Lawrence. Also many caring friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 15th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 16th at 12:00noon in the Chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery
