Funeral services for Ruby Alice Cole Oden, 85, of Eva, will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Macedonia Baptist Church at Oden Ridge. She will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Milford Hays and Bro. Dewayne Harper will officiate. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
Mrs. Oden, who passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Summerford Nursing Home, was born February 18, 1929 to Dexter Earl and Luvie Theo Cole. She was a loving and caring member of the Oden Ridge community for many years and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church at Oden Ridge. She never met a stranger and brought joy and love to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, James Hubert Oden; one son, Raymond Earl Oden; three sisters, Elfie Graveman, Melba Mize and Charlcie Nail; and two brothers, James Cole and Loyd Cole.
Survivors include one sister, Lois Morgan; and many nieces, nephews and family members.
The family would like to thank the staff at Summerford Nursing Home for the loving care they gave her while she and Hubert were there. And the most heartfelt thanks to Bob and Pat Beavers who have cared for Ruby and Hubert over the years as their health declined.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
