Funeral services for Ruben Bryan “R.B.” Smith, 99, of Athens will be Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. and John Allfrey officiating.

Mr. Smith, who passed away February 18, 2015, was born April 6, 1915, in Fayetteville, TN. to the late Rheubin and Myrtle Croley Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Allfrey Smith; grandson, Byron Keith Cornelius; brothers, Roy Marvin Smith and Harold Smith; sister, Laurene Smith.

He is survived by daughters, Judy Cornelius and Nancy Meikus (Richard); grandchildren, Kerry Bradford (Zackie), Russellville, Kelly Cornelius, Florence, Nikki Black Skinner (Drew), Charlotte, N.C., Cameron Black, Carson City, NV; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brothers, James Croley Smith and Buddy Smith; sister, Pauline Gossett.

Mr. Smith was a member of Ephesus Church of Christ. He and his brother owned H.H. Smith Wholesale, Inc. and was proud to be a “peddler.”

Pallbearers will be Kelly Cornelius, Cameron Black, Richard Meikus, Drew Skinner, Zackie Bradford and Mack Smith.
