Rube Kenneth Long, age 83, of Somerville, died Thursday, November 25, 2021, at his residence. No public service is scheduled at this time. Shelton Funeral Home is assisting his family.
Mr. Long was born November 3, 1938, in Five Points, AL, to Rube Long, Jr. and Mary Faynell Roberts Long. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Long, his parents, and three brothers, Wade Long, Jimmy Long, and Jerry Long. Mr. Long worked as a draftsman for Teledyne Brown.
He is survived by one brother, Mike Long of Decatur; two sisters, Toni Jones (Dallas) of Hartselle and Pandora Layton (Troy) of Moulton; and two stepdaughters, Susan Murphy and Debbie Edney.
