Royce Newell, age 71, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at North Alabama Medical Center.
Royce was the type of man if you met him, you did not forget him. He worked as a foreman in the furniture business and was a brick mason. He loved to fish and was a devoted Alabama fan. He loved crocheting, making some of the most unique throws. Most of all, he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.
The visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2019 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents Odia & Oleada (Harris) Newell; brother, Roland “Bo” Newell’ and sister, Teresea Newell Lehman.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nell (Black) Newell; sons, Allen Newell (wife, Theresa), Randy Newell (wife, Deb), Rick Newell (wife, Mericka); 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces & nephews.
