Roy Nicholas Strickland, age 80, of Spruce Pine, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
Roy was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a Christian. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Russellville. He was retired as a business owner of Strickland Electric. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard, where he served his Nation proudly.
He is survived by his daughter, Sheree Strickland Canida (Neal); grandchildren, Matthew Tyra (Amanda), Seth Tyra; great-grandchild, Rowan Tyra.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Delaine Buckingham Strickland; son, Nick Strickland; parents, Earl and Lola Strickland; siblings, Oscar Strickland and Mary Ann Motley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 1pm in the Chapel. Interment will follow the funeral at Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Bowen, Wilson Thorne, James McCarley, David Strickland, Joel McCarley and Jerry McCarley. Honorary pallbearers are Tony King and Sam Cantrell.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville assisted the family.
