Roy Lewis Wells, age 82, of Carbon Hill passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham.
He worked in mine construction for several years and for the city of Carbon Hill as police chief.
Memorial service for Roy L. Wells will be held Monday, July 26, 2021. Visitation will be from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. The service will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper with Bro. John Billy Butler officiating.
Survivors include his children, Robin Wells Hamilton, Jason Wells and Jonathan Wells (Jan); grandchildren, Megan Wells Davis (Brian), Rachel Daniel, Kalyn Wells, Hailey Wells, Caroline Wells, Emma Wells, and Josh Wells; great-grandchildren, Gabby and Gavin Davis; brother, Larry Wells.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Lorraine Wells and Pearl Wells; wife of 56 years, Carolyn Wells; brother, Kenny Wells.
