Roy Len Turberville – Obituary

Roy Len Turberville, 79 of Cherokee, passed away on April 20, 2015, at Helen Keller Hospital. His family will receive friends Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with funeral following at 2:00 p.m. at Cherokee Church of Christ with Ricky Collum, Mel Futrell and Wade Turberville officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milam and Rachel Turberville, four sisters, two brothers, and numerous nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Turberville; daughter, Janet (Gerald) Pounders; sons, Donny (Vicki), Mark (Linda), and Mitchell (Deanna) Turberville; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was such a wonderful daddy and pawpaw. His greatest moments in life were spending time with family and friends, bluegrass music, and metal detecting. He attended Cherokee Church of Christ for over seventy years.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Malone, Mike Nipper, Andy Turberville, and Tracy Turberville.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jack McLendon, Dr. Evans, the doctors and staff at Northwest Alabama Cancer Center, Cottage of the Shoals and 4th floor nurses at Helen Keller Hospital.
