Roy Lamar Bolton, Sr.

Roy Lamar Bolton, Sr., 91, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at Generations of Red Bay.  He was born in Alabama to Chester L. and Annie Mae McKinney Bolton.  He worked as a lineman for the Illinois Central Railroad and retired from Franklin County Electric Association.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 15, 3 p.m. with Haskell Sparks officiating.  Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Irene Underwood Bolton; four children, Lamar Bolton (Nancy), Raymond Bolton (Melanie), Laurel Turbyfill (Tony) and Julia Davis; five grandchildren, Brad Bolton (Melissa), Cheston Turbyfill, Aaron Shewbart (Katie), Adam Shewbart (Hope) and Lindsey Turbyfill Smith (Daniel) and seven great-grandchildren, Carsen Bolton, Trager Shewbart, Trayson Shewbart, Finley Smith, Emma Smith, Emily Shewbart and Charlotte Shewbart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ralph Bolton, Dr. Leon Bolton and Charles Bolton.

Pallbearers will be Brad Bolton, Cheston Turbyfill, Aaron Shewbart, Adam Shewbart, Daniel Smith and Trager Shewbart.

Visitation will be Monday, April 15, 1-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.

The family wishes to thank Generations of Red Bay and Jennifer and Laura with Enhabit Hospice for their care.
