Roy “Juno” Smith – Obituary

Roy “Juno” Smith, 93, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016. Visitation will be today, Oct. 24, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 1 p.m. in chapel. Burial will be at Shaw Cemetery. Brother Corey Cochran will be officiating .

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha B. Smith, three brothers, David, Bruce, and Leslie; parents, Roy and Ona Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Ronald G. Smith (Cheryl); daughter, Laura Howard; sister, Almarie Holder; and special friend, Nettie Joiner; grandchildren Jamie DeFoor (Jason), Tracie Mooring (Waytt) III, Korbyn Howard, Kendyn Howard, Kristyn Howard, and Katelyn Howard; and great-grandchildren, Jackson DeFoor, Lincoln DeFoor, Lillian DeFoor, Wyatt Morring IV, and Allie Gray Mooring.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Underwood, Bryan Grissom, Jarred Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Rick Lansdell and Wyatt Mooring III.

Honorary pallbearers are Jackson DeFoor, Lincoln DeFoor and Wyatt Mooring IV

He was a member of Hatton Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He retired from Union Carbide after 33 years of loyal service.

Special thanks to Dr. McLendon, Dr. Pickett and the full staff of Helen Keller Hospital, and J.W. Sommer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the building fund at Hatton Baptist Church.
