Roy Eugene Williams, 90, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on August 17th, 2024, in his residence. He was born on January 9th, 1934, to parents, Hugh Williams and Dessie Grimsley Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by his beloved wife of seventy years, Sara Manning Williams, three children, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, along with his brother.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home from 12 pm to 1:30 pm. A graveside service will follow at 2 pm at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, AL.
Mr. Williams served in the US Army and upon completing his enlistment, worked as a technical illustrator for various aerospace companies. He later moved on to work for the US Army Missile Command in its equipment calibration labs where he completed his career and entered retirement.
