Roy Elbert Edwards, 90, of Huntsville, Alabama died on May 29, 2020.  He was born on October 11, 1929 in Erwin, Tennessee and has lived in Huntsville for the last 50 years.

Roy is survived by his sons Mike and wife Andrea Edwards, Mitchell and wife Tina Edwards, and grandchildren Justin and Justina.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Esther Edwards, his parents Frank and Maxie Edwards, his brothers Steve, James, and Albert, and his sisters Sarah and Grace.

Roy was a devoted husband and father.  He had a distinguished career that spanned more than fifty years including 20 years of service in the US Air Force and 20 years of civilian service in the US Army Corp of Engineers. After retirement he spent many years supporting Southern Baptist Disaster relief efforts including relief efforts for Sept 11th in New York City.

A family graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery at 10:00 am on Monday, June 1, 2020.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Mike Hulsey.

The family requests that donations to the Farley Community Church building fund be made in lieu of flowers.  Donations may be sent to Farley Community Church, 12302 Bell Rd, Huntsville, AL 35803.
