Roy Douglas “Doug” Renfroe – Obituary

Roy Douglas “Doug” Renfroe, 72, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born in Huntsville, but grew up in Eastaboga and graduated from Walter Wellborn High School in 1962.

Mr. Renfroe moved back to Huntsville in 1964 where he worked for Bellsouth for 31 years. He also served in the United States Army 141 st Signal Battalion during the Vietnam Era in Fort Hood, Texas. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Renfroe; daughter, Cynthia Pimm (Scott); grandchildren, Alexis Dumbacher Smith (Jake), Hayley Dumbacher, Jack Pimm, Jennifer Dumbacher, and Ben Pimm ; sisters, Jean Lefever (Roy), Dianne Ray (Bobby), Lois Hale (Ricky), and Donna Beard (Eddy); several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Renfroe was preceded in death by his daughter, Traci Dumbacher; his parents, P.H. “Bud” and Alene Renfroe; brothers, Wayne Renfroe and Ray Renfroe.

The family will receive friends Tuesday at Berryhill Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hampton Cove Cemetery.
