Roy Dean Woodard, 89, of Cherokee, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Chuck Bradford officiating. Interment will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery, Cherokee.
Roy was a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Gertrude Woodard; and sisters, Gracie Thompson and Dorothy Woodard.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Jane Woodard; children, Vicki Halliburton (Randy), Gregg Woodard (Brenda), and Al Woodard (Paige); grandchildren, Stacie Lambert (Jeremy), Alison Halliburton, Ashley Eaton (Jimmie), Alex Woodard (Sabrina), Emma Gallop (Henry), and Drake Woodard; great-grandchildren, Harper Lambert, Bowen Lambert, Zoe Goss, Lillie Eaton, Emmie Eaton, Sofia Woodard, and Theo Gallop; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Thompson, Doug Godfrey, Alex Woodard, Drake Woodard, Henry Gallop, and Jimmie Eaton.
The family expresses special thanks to the nurses and staff at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home, Station 5.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harris Chapel Cemetery Fund.
