Roy Dean “Brum” Brumbelow – Obituary

Roy Dean “Brum” Brumbelow of Middleton, Tennessee went to be with his Lord’ peacefully in his home on June 7, 2018 at the age of 82 after a long term illness.  He leaves his wife of 62 years, Margarette Brumbelow; his daughters, Tina Galli and Wanda Brumbelow; brother Travis Brumbelow; three grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

Roy was born April 28, 1936 in Michie, TN along with his twin brother Troy Brumbelow (deceased) to the late Arthur and Virginia Brumbelow.  Roy married his life-long sweetheart, Margarette, on April 7, 1956 in Corinth, Mississippi.  He joined the Navy in 1954 and achieved the distinguished rank of Master Chief.
Roy was discharged with full honors in 1975 after 21 years of service.  He subsequently worked at Dover Elevator and Lucerne.

Roy was passionate about coaching Dizzy Dean baseball while living in Pensacola, Florida.  One of his ball teams won the Dizzy Dean World Series in 1974.  Three of his former players went on to the majors and two pitched in World Series games.  Roy will be missed by family and friends.
