Roy Dean Blount was born on July 11, 1941 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Jones William and Beulah Harrison Blount. Mr. Blount had lived in Hardin County his entire life and worked for the Hardin County Highway Department, where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator for over 15 years. He was a member of Sinner’s Hope Church in Milledgeville, Tennessee.
Mr. Blount enjoyed fishing and collecting antique toys. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
He departed this life on April 22, 2016 at Savannah Healthcare at the age of 74 years, 9 months, and 11 days.
He is survived by three sons: Jeff, Vance, and Chad Blount, all of Savannah, Tennessee; one sister, Virginia Ann McFall of Corinth, Mississippi; one brother, Paul Blount of Savannah, Tennessee; eight grandchildren: Jeremy Blount, Britney Blount, Acey Blount, Gunnar Blount, Zach Northcutt, Reeves Northcutt, Cody Northcutt, and Ava Northcutt; two great-grandchildren, Ava Young, and Addison Boswell.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Clyde and Bruce Blount.
