FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the route of the incoming bikers for the Trail of Tears today:
“This afternoon the annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride will come through Florence. We are expecting the ride to enter the Florence area between 12:30pm and 1:30pm.
The ride will enter the city limits of Florence from the east via U.S. Hwy 72. The ride travels west on Florence Blvd. from Shoal Creek Bridge, turns south onto Cox Creek Pkwy, turns west onto Veterans Dr., turns south onto Seminary St., turns west onto U.S. Hwy 20, and then turns left onto Waterloo Rd where it will exit the Florence city limits.
Traffic congestion and vehicle crashes are the most typical issues with this event. Please be patient if traveling and you approach a congested area. Also, remember to pay attention to your surroundings while driving.”
