Rosene Troup passed peacefully from this life on February 23, 2015 at her home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James E. Troup, infant daughter Shelia Joan Troup, parents C.C. and Hettie Sparks Carter, brothers Henry Carter and C.C. Carter (Junior), and sister Josephine Jones. Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Richard Peck, grandsons James Peck and Jonathan Peck, great-grandson Ryan Peck. She is also survived by sisters-in-law and “angel” caregivers Wilma Carter and Jean Scott and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Mastin Lake Road Church of Christ and had worked for many years at JC Penney. She loved children and became a surrogate grandmother to countless. She was well known for her chocolate and coconut cream pies. Hobbies were fishing, gardening, crocheting and spoiling children. Rosene’s family will receive vistors from 11:00am until 1:00pm Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Berryhill Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow visitation. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to AGAPE of North Alabama, Hospice Family Care, or Friends, Inc.. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
