In loving memory of Rose Marie Royster
Rose Marie Royster was born on March 20, 1959, to Zelmon and Veva Lee Parsons. On July 18, 1980, she married Mitchell Royster. Together they were blessed with three wonderful children: Aaron (Leah) Royster, Daniel Royster, and Ashlee (Jay) Harvell and a special daughter Misty (Shawn) Williams and a host of cherished grandchildren: Madyson, Colton, Katie, Cain, Reagan, Lincoln, and Roselyn and a special great niece Eliza. Rose was also blessed with siblings, Jean (Mark) Morris, Malcom Parsons, and Tommy (Karen) Parsons.
A life of faithful love and selfless service.
Faithful, loving, selfless, humble, empathetic, dependable, a true friend. Rose was always the first to show up when someone was in need – arriving with something delicious to eat, something funny to lift spirits, and most of all, steadfast support. She didn’t want anyone to suffer alone.
Rose especially loved her church family and looked forward to spending time with the saints. She was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a wonderful friend to everyone she knew. If Rose knew you, she loved you—and she had a way of making sure you felt how special and loved you were by her. She never sought attention and lived with rare selflessness, always making sure everyone else was taken care of. She held fast to her faith in God and trusted His provision. She often said, “God is Good and His plan is the best plan.” even during the most difficult and most challenging times.
Rose was the anchor that held our family together and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and church community.
Services for Rose will be Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Morgan City Church of God. She will lie-in-state from 11:00am until the funeral service begins at 1:00pm. Brother Roland Cornwell will officiate. Interment will be in Rescue Cemetery. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Aaron Royster, Daniel Royster, Colton Royster, Shawn Williams, Buster Brock, Jeff Elmore, Josh Nordstrom, Jay Harvell. Honorary pallbearers: Cain Harvell, Katie Harvell. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
The family would like to express its gratitude to Miranda Rainwater and Stephanie Reed for the care they provided during this time, and to the Morgan City Church of God for their love and support.
