Rose Altha Rice Rogers, age 90 of the Ashridge Community, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation in Double Springs, Alabama. Rose was born on September 27, 1934 to Nelson Gaines Rice and Eleanor Littie Jane Martin Rice in Franklin County, Alabama. She will be remembered for being a hard worker, caring, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Rose loved her family. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs where the service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Shawn Blanton officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in the Ashridge Community. Rose is survived by her son, Steve (Liz) Rogers; granddaughter, Krista (Jeremy) Overton; great grandson, Hunter Patterson; brothers, Earl (Gladys) Rice, J.L. (Betty) Rice, Homer (Roma) Rice, and Neal (Glenda) Rice; sister-in-law, Christine Rice; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Eleanor Rice; husband, Reverend Clice “Sam” Rogers; brothers, James (Lillie) Rice, Alvin (Donnie) Rice, and Nelson “Junior” Rice Jr.
