Rosario BrownRosario “Rose” Brown, 84, of Madison, Alabama died on March 21, 2022, in Madison. She was born on June 14, 1937 in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Lopez Cardona Acevedo and Cruz Marrero Lopez. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Silas Luther Brown, Jr. who died on March 8, 1993. Rosario was a stay-at-home Mom and to provide supplemental income for the family she was an excellent seamstress for the public and local schools. Once her children were older, she worked at Huntsville International Airport in security and Chesebrough Ponds as a machine operator in the warehouse. She also worked at Bob Jones High School in the cafeteria until she retired. Rosario was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison, Alabama since it was established. Rosario is survived by her daughter, Beverly Atkinson, and her two sons Silas “Charlie” Luther Brown III (Karen) and Jon William Brown. She is survived by her six grandchildren, including, John “Wes” Atkinson (Kim), Wendy Dunn (Mark), Silas Luther Brown IV (Katie), Currie Thompson (Zach), Christopher Brown, and Kayla Barnett (Joshua). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, including, John “Eli” Atkinson, Cooper Dunn, Mia Dunn, Paisley Thompson, Sadie Thompson, Baron Thompson, Tripp Thompson, Andrew Brown, Sebastian Barnett, and Archie Barnett. Before her death, she learned that another great-grandchild, Baby Brown, is due in October 2022.

The visitation will be held at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, Alabama, on Thursday, March 24th from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow after visitation, beginning at 2:00 PM.

Pall bearers include, John “Wes” Atkinson, Silas Luther Brown IV, Mark Dunn, Zach Thompson, Andrew Brown, Joshua Barnett, and Christopher Brown.  Rosario will be laid to rest at Huntsville Memory Gardens, next to her husband.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Madison at the Range and Kindred Hospice for their kind and loving care.  Our beloved and beautiful Mom & Grandmother will be greatly missed
