Ronnie Lee Owens, age 71, of Dora, Alabama went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 21, 2024. Ronnie was a retired coal miner, having worked at several coal operations in Virginia, West Virginia, and Alabama. He would have been happy to tell you that he was a born-again Christian, coming to know the Lord Jesus in 1977 and was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church in Forestdale, Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sid and Lovis Owens; sisters, Jerrilyn Owens and Connie Davenport; brothers, Terry, Eddie, and Charles Owens. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pam Owens of Dora; his daughter, Robin (Dylan) Powell of Calera, Alabama; and sisters, Freda Sisk and Phyllis Gray, both of Mount Hope, West Virginia, and Tish (Tom) Neff of Buckhannon, West Virginia.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Gloryland Baptist Church, Pastor Jordan Forshee, followed by his celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Andrew McAfee officiating. Graveside and interment service will follow at New Horizon Memorial Gardens in Dora, after which a meal for all will be provided at Gloryland Baptist Church.
