Ronnie Boyett Sr Profile PhotoMr. Ronnie Boyett Sr of Hazel Green passed away on Tuesday at his home. He was 69. He was a graduate of Hazel Green High School and had retired from John Deere Tractor Company where he worked as a small engine mechanic. He was affectionately known as “Big Ronnie” by family and friend.

He loved traditional country music and was known for his guitar playing and singing and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved watching westerns. He sometimes had the opportunity to go ice fishing with family in Michigan. He also enjoyed spending time with his family cooking out and especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was quick to tell everybody that he taught his children how to cook out and play guitar.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carla Boyett; His parents, Marvin “Buck” & Margie Ann Boyett. his brother, Jacky Boyett.

Surviving family members include his children, Amber and Richard Wallace, Dennis and Karen Boyett and Ronnie Jr. and Amanda Boyett, his grandchildren, Alexander, Aleah, Austin, Jake, Kyle, Bryant, Abrielle and Isaiah; his great-grandchildren, Ava & Axl Boyett; his sister, Judy Jones; his brothers, Russell Boyett and Tim Boyett and a host of loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10am to 12pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will then be in Plainview Cemetery.
