Ronald “Ronnie” Ray Pike, age 83, of Southside, Alabama, entered the gates of Heaven on October 4, 2026.Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Pike; his father, Clarence Pike; his brother, Clarence Pike Jr.; and his niece, Lavonda Groover.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 29 years, Karen Pike; his brother, Kenneth Pike; his children, Steven (Donna) Pike, Sharon (Don) Owen, Suzanne (Tim) Cox, Chris (Cheryl) Cox, and Kim (Craig) Morgan; brothers-in-law, Bobby (Jo) Norris and Ronald (Linda) Norris; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a member of the Class of 1961 at Emma Sansom High School. Following high school, Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 8th Airborne Infantry Division from 1961 to 1964. After his military service, he began a long and dedicated career at Republic Steel, where he worked for 35 years.
Ronnie was a man who found immense joy in the simple things in life—family, friendship, sports, and the outdoors. He was a passionate Alabama football fan and loved sports of all kinds.
Family meant everything to Ronnie. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Ronnie cherished his many friendships. One of his favorite traditions was meeting his close group of friends at the round table at Jack’s for breakfast. He also looked forward to monthly fellowship with his longtime coworkers from the steel plant. These friendships and the time they shared together brought Ronnie great happiness.
Ronnie will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to his friends, and most of all, his truly kind soul. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Mathew Moore, Samuel Pike, David Pike, Daniel Owen, Justin Lee, Justin Owen, and Tyler Cunningham.
Visitation will be held on October 6, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 7, 2026, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Ronnie will be laid to rest at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
