Ronald “Ron’ Copeland – Obituary

Mr. Ronald “Ron’ Copeland, age 75, husband of Lorraine Copeland, and a resident of Running Deer Drive in Columbia, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at his residence.

 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Points officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on April 4, 1942 in Flint, Michigan, Ronald was the son of the late Damon Edward Copeland and the late Anita Joan Rohac Copeland. He was a graduate of Ovid-Elsie High School in Ovid, Michigan, previously worked as a tool maker for General Motors, and served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Lorraine on June 22, 1990 and together they have been foster parents for seventeen years. Their lives always revolved around their wonderful children.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Jenelle Copeland (Steve Long) of Antioch, TN, Heather Copeland of Flint, MI; sons: Kris Deisler of Traverse City, MI, Dane (Angie) Deisler of Durand, MI; brothers: Michael (Sammie) Copeland of New Port Richey, FL, Rodney (Pam) Copeland of Norman, OK, Kurt (Brenda) Waltz of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren: Ryleigh Copeland, Chelsea (Mark) Seals, Katie Deisler, Cody Deisler, Quinn Deisler, Paige Deisler; great grandson: Avery Seals; and many nieces and nephews.
