Ronald Owen Hall, 86, died March 6,2026. He was born on October 10, 1939, in Decatur, Alabama, to Ruby Owen and James Samuel Hall.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday, March 10,2026 at the Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 10AM -11Am at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter- Christa Hall, a sister- Margie Glasscock, and a great granddaughter- Gaberiella Rainey.
Mr. Hall grew up in Austinville and wrote fondly of those days, in his book, “Austinville, A Gathering of Memories”.
He loved his school classmates and was instrumental in planning school reunions. He played basketball for the Austinville Hornets. They were the state champions in 1957 and 1958. He was an author, poet and musician.
Ronnie or Ron, as he was known, graduated with a B.S. from UNA and a Master’s from UAH. Upon graduation he taught Math at Decatur High School for 2 ½ years, following with a long career in aerospace at Rocketdyne, (Division of Rockwell). He programmed the main engines for every shuttle flight that flew.
A devout Christian, he had leadership and teaching roles at Church. He led by example. He taught all ages from children’s church top senior adults.
Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Maxine Johnson Hall, a son- Victor Hall (Jennifer), and granddaughters- Cayla Rock (Dale) and Kara Boyles and grandsons- Brannon Hall (Tia), Dylon Lange (Samatha), Tyler Rainey (Macarena), Bailey Hall (Brandy), and Ayden Penley. He also had twelve great grandchildren and was the best playmate for them all, children and grandchildren alike.
Grandsons will service as pallbearers.
