Ronald Lawrence Gowdy, 62, of Ardmore, Alabama, died on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at his home.
Born Wednesday, October 17, 1951, in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of Leslie Lawrence Gowdy and Virginia Dorothy Blakeslee Gowdy. He has lived in this area for the last 38 years, coming from Phoenix, NY. He was a Christian and loved politics, gardening, and being outdoors. He was a Veteran of the US Army.
Surviving are his wife: Lorraine Gowdy of Ardmore, AL, sons, Matthew Gowdy of San Diego, CA, Justin Gowdy of Nashville, TN and David Gowdy of Ardmore, AL, brother, Robert Gowdy of Charlotte, NC, his parents: Leslie & Virginia Gowdy of Crestview, FL, sister, Janet Grisham of Crestview, FL, and one grandson: Jacob Gowdy.
Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Harvey Sullins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
