Ronald E. Warren, age 78, of Florence, passed away on Monday May 5, 2014. Visitation will be at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence on Thursday May 8, from noon until 2:00 P.M., with services to follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel. Harley Hollingsworth and Billy Warren will officiate. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Ethel Caudle Warren; his brothers, Lorenz and Charles Warren; and his sister, Corinne Warren.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shelby H. Warren; his son, Ronald Terrell “Terry” Warren; and grandsons, Nathan and Sean David Warren. He is also survived by his brother, Billy Warren (Pat); his sister, Sarah Watts (Ed); sisters-in-law, Judy Warren and Jane Hollingsworth; brother-in-law, Joe Hollingsworth (Shirley); and numerous nieces, nephews and his best friend and companion LuLu.
Pallbearers will be Gregg Pounders, Bennett Wilson, Daniel Hollingsworth, Anthony Hollingsworth, Mark Aldridge and Randy Balentine.
Mr. Warren was a graduate of Coffee High School and attended Florence State College. He was very proud to have served our nation in the United States Marine Corp and Naval Reserve. He was a Director of Compass Bank for 28 years and a longtime member and past president of the Shoals Home Builders Association, while also serving as a member of the Shoals Board of Realtors. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Shoals Home Builders Association and was a Director of the State of Alabama Home Builders Association. He developed numerous residential subdivisions and commercial buildings in North Alabama.
