Funeral service for Ronald DeWitt Ridge, 71, will be Friday, April 24, 2015 at 7:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Britt officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday, April 24, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Ridge died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1943, in California to Robert Dewitt Ridge and Hazel Marie Robinson Ridge. Ronald was united in marriage to Julie Dee Mayes on December 19, 1987 in Shelbina, Missouri. Ron enjoyed horses and golf, spending time with his family and was an avid Alabama football fan. He attended church at the Pentacostals of Hartselle. He served in the United States Air Force. Born in Bakersfield, California, he grew up in Decatur, Illinois and moved to Decatur Alabama, upon his discharge from the military. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson: Tyzaiah LeTell Smiley.
