Mr. Ronald Curtis Preston, age 71, of Joppa, Alabama (4 Way Crossroads area) passed away peacefully at Marshall Medical Center South, Boaz, AL on August 16, 2023. Mr. Preston was born on March 12, 1952, to Curtis Preston and Willie Ruth Woods Preston in Marshall County. He and his wife, Sharon Venetta Davis Preston had been married for 52 years. Mr. Preston was employed at the Chemical Plant where he worked in maintenance.
Like a man of his generation, Ronald was an individual with many interests, mostly pertaining to being outdoors. He loved his family, his tractor, welding and tinkering. He was always trying to “fix” something. When Ronald wasn’t tinkering he could be found in front of his TV, usually watching and appreciating the older classic TV shows and movies.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon Preston; and his son, Daniel Curtis Preston; daughter, Patricia Anne “Patti” Preston; and grandchildren, Theron Preston and Michael Jones.
In addition to his parents, Curtis and Willie Ruth Preston, Ronald was preceded in death by two siblings, Roger Preston and June Price.
The family has chosen to honor Ronald’s wishes for cremation. A memorial service for Ronald will be on August 26, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The location for the service will be at the Brooklyn Community Center in Holly Pond.
