Ronald Cleveland Hayes, 77, of Florence, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024.
Visitation is at New Hope Church of Christ from 12-2 p.m. Thursday with funeral at 2 p.m., with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Travis Creasy and Austin Swinea, with Doug Jackson leading singing.
Ron was a member and former elder at Jacksonsburg Church of Christ. He was a song leader and used his talent to mentor to others. Ron was a former member on the board of the North Alabama Christian Children’s Home. He retired from Occidental Chemical after years of working as a welder and electrician and forming many lifelong friendships there. He was a graduate of Central High School and had served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Evert and Helen Hayes; brother, Clayton Hayes; sister, Elizabeth Faye Chandler; and in-laws, Garfield and Myrtle Handley.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Nadine Hayes; sons, Dale and Tammy Hayes, Florence; Kirk and Andrea Hayes, Lizelle, Georgia; Ben and Kenya Hayes, Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Tyler Hayes, Tuscumbia, William (Hannah) Hayes, Lexington, Madeline Hayes, Cloverdale, Molly Beth Hayes, Athens, Abigayle Hayes, Statesboro, Georgia, Brandon Hayes, Abilene, Texas, Jackson Hayes, Destin Hayes, Branslee Hayes, Stana Hayes and Cypress Hayes, all of Muscle Shoals, Taylor Jones and Zane Gist, both of Florence; great-grandchildren, Finley, Nora, Brody, Liam and Callan; brothers, Randy and Regina Hayes, Florence, Phillip and Debbie Hayes, Sheffield; sisters, Carolyn and Tim McCluskey, Greenhill, Edith Grigsby, Klllen, Brenda and Daniel Creasy, Florence, Mary and Jack Handley, Greenhill, Doris Creasy, Florence, Myra and Danny Arnold, of Florence; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hayes, Cullman, Grace Pate and Kathy and Rick Martin, Florence; brother-in-law, Sam Chandler; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Hayes, William Hayes, Zane Gist, Brandon Hayes, Jackson Hayes and Cypus Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Arnold, Jimmy Bacon, Daniel Creasy, Bradley Dupree, Jack Handley and Leon Quillen.
