Ronald Carter Thompson, age 78, of Baxley, GA passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his residence.
Ron was born March 26, 1948, to the late Neman B. Thompson and the late Ruth Gullie Thompson in Lewisburg, Tennessee. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War, and served over twenty years in the Tennessee Air National Guard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepson, Wayne Berry Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Azilee Crews Thompson of Baxley, Georgia; sister, Brenda (Clay) Derryberry of Lewisburg, TN, and brothers, Steve (Sandra) Thompson of Lewisburg; and Paul (Kay) Thompson of Hartselle, Alabama; Step-daughter, Deanna (John) Reynolds and two step grandchildren, Johnny Lee Reynolds and Joanna Michelle Reynolds of Alma, Georgia.
He is also survived by nephew, Nathan (Cindy) Park; niece, Rachel (Foye) Troute; niece, Vivian (Kevin) Hicks; nephew, Chris Thompson; and niece, Kristen Courtemanche.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Wilson Hill Church of Christ building on June 6. Visitation with the family will be at 10 am and the service will follow at 11:00.
