Rogersville Man Dies From Injuries Received In Auto Crash Near Courtland

COURTLAND-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Courtland has taken the life of a Rogersville man and sent a teen to hospital with injuries:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. Thursday, February 6, has claimed the life of a Rogersville man.

Nigil J. Spangler, 23, was critically injured when the 2010 Nissan Maxima he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. Spangler was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected. Spangler was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 15-year-old teen of Moulton, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was injured and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on Alabama 33 near the 39 mile marker, approximately one mile south of Courtland, in Lawrence County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
