HARTSELLE-The Hartselle Police Department has arrested Silas Cain Hamm, 28, of Rogersville, AL., in connection with a domestic incident that occurred on June 28, 2025. Hamm faces multiple charges, including Domestic Violence by Strangulation and Domestic Violence in the Second Degree, which incorporates Burglary 2nd.
The investigation revealed that Hamm, who was in a dating relationship with the victim, allegedly assaulted her following a

social gathering. According to evidence and witness statements, Hamm physically attacked the victim, placing his hands around her neck and impeding her breathing. Visible injuries consistent with strangulation were observed by investigators. During the assault, Hamm allegedly threatened to kill the victim, her young child, and himself.
Sgt. Patrick Edmondson was assigned to the investigation. After interviewing the victim, collecting evidence, and reviewing medical evaluations, authorities determined there was probable cause to charge Hamm.
On July 28, 2025, Hamm was arrested on the warrants obtained by Sgt. Edmondson and received a $50,000.00 (cash) bond as determined by a Morgan County Circuit Judge.
