CW5 (Retired) Roger Neal Preston, 66 of Baileyton, the Ryan Community died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Preston was born March 7, 1949 in Arab, Alabama, the son of Curtis and Ruth “Bill” Preston. He was a graduate of Fairview High School, Class of 1967.
CW5 Preston, a maintenance officer served in the 279th Signal Battalion in Arab and Huntsville for 41 years and served a tour in Iraq in 2003. He also worked for the Alabama National Guard full time.
He is survived by two sons: Chris Preston and Eric Preston; four grandchildren: Derreck Persall, Brittany, Keisha, and Karlee Jo Preston; a brother and sister-in-law: Ronald and Sharon Preston and a sister: June Price; special friend: Denise Beam and a host of wonderful friends and family.
A Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Ryan Baptist Church, Chaplain Coy Hallmark, officiating with Military Honors provided by Alabama National Guard. Mr. Preston elected cremation, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisted with cremation arrangements only.
Visitation with the family will be from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Ryan Baptist Church.
