Jackson,_Roger_N_001Mr. Roger N. Jackson, 65, of Florence, passed away Tuesday March 14, 2013, at his home following a brief illness.  Visitation will be 6pm until 8pm Thursday at Greenview Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be at 11am Friday in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Donnie McDaniel officiating.  Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park Garden of Valor with military honors.

Mr. Jackson was born in Florence, a member of Underwood Baptist Church and a member of the National Rifle Association.  He was retired from Norfolk Southern Rail Road as maintenance supervisor.  Mr. Jackson served his country in the US Army, his unit being the Big Red One,  was a Viet Nam veteran, a recipient of the Bronze Star, and the Army Commendation Medal.  He loved to ride his motorcycle, loved his family and friends, and was a very generous man. He was a man that loved God.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Shirley Jackson; father, Odis Oneal Jackson; mother, Judy D. Lindsey; brother, Donald Jackson; mother-in-law, Mary Zahnd.  He is survived by his step father, Dr. Rivers M. Lindsey Jr.; son, Randy Jackson and wife Lynn; daughter, Monica Lisby and husband Jody; brother, Ronnie Jackson and wife Pam; step sisters, Stacie Tompkins, Barbara Brown, Paige Smith, Courtney Dollar and Meredith Price; grandchildren, Collin Jackson, Hunter McBrayer, Caleb Jackson, Zak McBrayer and Ansley Lisby; Todd McBrayer father of Hunter and Zak.
Pallbearers will be Jason Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Rico McGee, Todd McBrayer, Perry Clanton, Robert Stanfield and Willie Barnett.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Hamner, Larry Stanfield, Larry Hays, Max Hamner, Scott Hays, Brandon Hays and Dane Hays.
