Roger Lee Byrd, age 64, died Saturday, December 30, 2017. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, January 2, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Byrd was a veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Navy. He was the lead driver for the Colbert County Sanitation Department. Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his parents, V.L. and Nettie Byrd; brother, Danny Byrd; and sisters, Regina Flanigan and Linda Faye Byrd.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Byrd; sons, Josh Byrd, Clint Byrd, James Watson, and T.J. Watson; daughters, Jessica Byrd, Amanda Byrd, and Tammy Collins; brother, Dale Byrd; sisters, Tina Strange and Melody Byrd; and grandchildren, Michael Kimbrell, Cody Kimbrell, Austin Mueller, Jamisyn Watson, Alex Watson, and nine others.
Pallbearers will be Michael and Cody Kimbrell, James Watson, Wayne Collins, Austin Mueller, and Matt McCluskey.
