Funeral services for Roger Dale Green, age 58, of Alexander City will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Lee Heath officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born and raised in Alabama, Roger graduated from Mellow Valley High School and went on to build a strong work ethic through a dedicated 20-year career in textiles at Russell Manufacturing.
Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was a passionate fan of car racing and loved following sports, particularly basketball, baseball, and Alabama Crimson Tide football. Whether watching a game with friends or cheering on his favorite team, he found joy in sharing those moments with others.
Known for his fun-loving personality, he never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was admired for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. His ability to make others smile and feel welcome left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
He was survived by his mother; Susie Hanson Green; his brother, John William Green Jr; his Aunts, Tena Jett, Martha Hanson, Bovine Wheat and an Uncle Phillip Hanson plus a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father; John William Green; and his aunts and uncles.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
His visitation will take place on Sunday June 21, 2026 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM.
