Roger Dale Curnel was born in Livingston County, Kentucky, on Aug. 3, 1944 and passed away peacefully at his home in Carrollton, Texas, on March 30, 2016.
Left with cherished memories are his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Linda Gail Curnel; son, James Dale Curnel and wife, Amy of Frisco, Texas; brothers, Alton Lawrence Curnel Sr. of Olivehill, Tennessee, and William Stanley Curnel of Hartselle; sister, Patti Jo Curnel of Hartselle; grandson, James Cody Curnel of Garland, Texas; Casey Ty Curnel of Cleburne, Texas, and Braden James Curnel of Frisco, Texas; granddaughter, Allyson Nicole Curnel of Frisco, Texas; three great- grandchildren and one on the way. Roger also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Roger is preceded in death by his father, Zelma Lawrence Curnel; his mother, Margaret Louise Black Curnel; brothers, Melvin Otto Curnel, Charles Daniel Curnel and sister, Julia Margaret Curnel.
Roger lived life his way. He worked hard and played hard. He loved his family and friends deeply. He loved all things sports, especially the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. Roger will be missed by many.
