Roger Dail Niles, age 77, of Eva, AL, passed away on July 8, 2025. Born on June 6, 1948, he was the beloved husband of Debra Niles, loving father of Jennifer Daughtery, Rhonda Ricketts, and Dale Niles, and cherished grandfather of James Daughtery, Jacob Daughtery, Shawn Ricketts, Emily Knox, Parker Ricketts, Caden Niles, and Colton Niles and a cherished great grandfather to 8 children.
Roger Dail Niles proudly served his country in the Army and the National Guard , where he earned the respect and admiration of his fellow service members. His commitment to his country and his community remained a guiding force throughout his life. As a dedicated National Guard member, he was known for his integrity, leadership, and unyielding support of his comrades.
Following his military service, Roger Niles went on to work at Kroger, where he continued to make a positive impact in his community. Outside of his professional life, he enjoyed gardening, working with computers, collecting media such as VHS tapes, DVDs, movies, family pictures, guns and knives, and was known for his dedication to family.
Roger Dail Niles was a man who truly believed in the values of hard work, service to others, and the importance of family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Graveside funeral service will be held at Lawrence Cove Cemetery, on July 12, 2025, at 3:00 PM with full military honors. Visitation will be at Peck Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.
He is survived by children, grandchildren, and a host of dear friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Debra Niles and his daughter Rhonda Ricketts.
May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
