Roger Anthony Thorn, Sr., age 65, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Roger loved hunting, fishing, music, and especially Alabama Football. He had a big collection of pocket knives, and passed on that love to his grandchildren. Roger had a great sense of humor and loved pretending to be asleep so he could fool his family. He was the greatest husband, dad, and Papa and he leaves behind to his family many wonderful memories.
Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Duncan Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Bro. James McCullar and Bro. Billy Thorn officiating the service. Burial will be in the adjourning church cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace & Estelle (Jones) Thorn; grandparents, Joe & Willie Jones and Charlie & Myrtle Thorn; and one infant grandchild.
Roger leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 41 years, Annie Glenda Thorn; children, Roger Anthony Thorn, Jr. (wife, Daisy), Joe Thorn (wife, Alicia), Melanie Brady; grandchildren, Noah Brady, Kaytlynn Brady, Emmy Thorn, Logan Thorn, Declan Thorn, Charlee Thorn; brother, Jimmy Thorn (wife, Sue); niece, Shonda Jean; great-niece, Kaylee Jean; and a host of friends.
The family would like to offer a sincere thanks to Michelle, Whitney, Ashley, Kindred Hospice, and NHC Staff for your love and care of the family. Also a special thanks to our friends, Cindy & Larry Shifflett.
