Mr. Rodney Russell, Sr., age 81, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, in Jackson, TN. Mr. Russell was born April 11, 1941 in Taylorville, IL to the late Earl and Pearl Dornon Russell. HE was a retired superintendent for All-Tri-R and a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church. A devoted husband and father, he loved giving to others. He also enjoyed wood working and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Mrs. Nancy Blankenship Russell; his son, Rodney Russell, Jr. (Anyce); two daughters, Sherri McKee (Shane) and Kim Joyce (Sean); two bonus sons, Edwin Blankenship and Reed Blankenship (Cindy); one brother, Terry Russell (Nancy); his nephew, Shawn Jones (Karen); eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Rock Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in New Hope Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday 10 AM – 2 PM at Rock Hill Baptist Church.
