Rodney L. Springer, 74, of Florence passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 at ECM Hospital.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Elkins Funeral Home from 1-3 PM. Funeral services will follow at 3 PM in the Chapel with Dr. John Brock officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Springer was a 1958 graduate of Rogers High School. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing and a was a member of Chapter K GWRRA. Mr. Springer retired as a truck driver after 42 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tad and Euna Belle Springer.
Mr. Springer is survived by his wife of 56 years Janice Springer; daughter Donesia; two sons Roddy and Chris (Rhonda) Springer; two brothers Greg (Brenda) and Barry (Carlotta) Springer; seven grandchildren Adam (Ashlee), Amber (Chris), Morgan (Brennen), Addison (Ken), Kasie (Samuel), Kayla, and Dre’; five great-grandchildren; special pet Smokee.
Pallbearers will be Farris Frederick, Dre’ Rickard, Chris Pinter, Samuel Laster, Andrew Springer, Chad Springer, Adam Springer, and Brennen Auerbach. Honorary pallbearers will be Chapter K GWRRA.
The family would like to express their thanks to ICU nurses at ECM Hospital and Dr. Morris.
